Excessive flight noise is having serious impacts on Brisbane residents since an additional runway at Brisbane Airport was opened in 2020.
Alongside Brisbane Flight Path Community Alliance, our Federal Greens MPs have been amplifying community voices and holding Labor and the Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) to task.
Successive Labor and LNP governments at state and federal levels have done nothing to reign in this private corporation. The QLD Labor Government is even using $100 million in taxpayer money to subsidise around 50 weekly flights between 10pm and 6am.
As your Greens candidate for McConnel in the upcoming state election, I'm committed to fighting alongside this community and my Greens colleagues for a cap and curfew on flight noise, and to scrap Labor’s handouts to airline corporations.
That's why I'm hosting a community meeting with Stephen Bates MP, so we can plan the next phase of our campaign to win caps and curfews at Brisbane Airport.
We'll be joined by guest speaker, Dr Marcus Foth,Chair of Brisbane Flight Path Community Alliance.
